Ocean City, an icon for just about anyone who is from Maryland, but I can tell you first hand that it isn’t everyone’s favorite place to visit. I am not big on large crowds of people in one place so my favorite time to visit Ocean City is when it is cold when there is just about NO ONE on the boardwalk. If you are looking for a day trip during the summer months, than you have to check out Calvert Cliffs State Park in Southern Maryland. The park is only open during the day and features a sandy beach, unique fossils, a recycled tire playground, fishing, a freshwater and tidal marshland and 13 miles of hiking trails.Continue reading “Calvert Cliff Awesome Day Adventure”
I don’t know about you but all this cold weather has me dreaming of the beach and our summer adventures. We love visiting National Parks and Assateague Island National Seashore is one that we visit at least 3-4 times a year. Assateague is known for its wild ponies that inhabit the island and for its beaches. If you have never been make sure you add it to your summer adventure list.
Not sure what it is but we love visiting caverns. So when we camped less than 1/4 miles from Shenandoah Caverns we had to visit!! Last year we visited Endless Caverns (you can read about our trip here), so we were excited to see how Shenandoah Caverns compared. And everyone agreed Shenandoah was much better than Endless.
While camping in the Shenandoah over Thanksgiving my mom and dad came across the coolest bridge while they were looking for the flea market. So when they got back they told us we had to go before the kids woke up for their nap. #naptimeadventure It didn’t take long to find the Meems Bottom Covered Bridge and drool over its beauty.
